The EDK 750 is a six-axle diesel crane built by Maschinenbau Kirow in Leipzig. The drive is diesel-electric, the telescopic boom is moved electro-hydraulically. This horizontally telescopic boom enables use under electrical contact lines, in tunnels and under bridges. The crane can drive up to 100 m / min under its own power. When transferring a locomotive to the working site, a speed of 100 km / h is permitted. With the appropriate support, it can lift loads of up to 125 tons. Because of this resilience, the crane is often used for construction work on railway lines and for the recovery of derailed rail vehicles. But it is also used for simple tasks, such as removing and reinserting switches and track yokes. The EDK 750 is still in use by some railway administrations and railway construction companies. In this video you can see the Czech version of the versatile railway crane.
