Discovery train and the Tremola by postal bus

This unique event combines two iconic modes of transportation to explore the legendary Gotthard region: a historic Saurer postal bus journey on the Tremola road and a ride on the renowned Gotthard mountain railway line aboard a vintage “San Gottardo Discovery Train” from SBB Historic.

Participants will embark on a scenic journey from Göschenen, traveling along the winding Tremola road aboard a beautifully preserved 1950s Saurer postal bus. The route takes you over the Gotthard Pass, offering breathtaking views and a nostalgic experience. After a brief stop at the Gotthard Pass, the journey continues to Lavorgo, where you’ll transition to the historic train.

From Lavorgo, you’ll board the “San Gottardo Discovery Train” and enjoy a scenic ride along the Gotthard mountain railway line back to Göschenen, with the freedom to choose your seating.

The itinerary includes Göschenen, the Gotthard Pass via the Tremola road, Lavorgo, and the Gotthard railway line, creating an unforgettable experience that blends road and rail travel in one of Switzerland’s most iconic regions.
