About the model

H0 scale model of the E.444.005 electric locomotive, an experimental prototype with electronic equipment and additional grilles, from Ferrovie dello Stato (FS). Epoch V (1990–2006) livery. Features include a completely new design, metal body, reliable mechanics with metal chassis and gearboxes, a powerful 5-pole central motor, and dual cardan drive on both axles. It is equipped with a 21-pin NEM 660/21MTC socket for DCC and DCC Sound decoders, with options for sound and speaker installation.

Additional features consist of accurate reproduction of type 52 FS pantographs made entirely of metal, motorised versions for controlled raising/lowering by decoder, automatic headlight and tail light switching based on direction and independent control for third lights and cabin illumination. The model allows for installation of a central shoe for operation on three-rail systems and includes NEM 362 couplers for close coupling with detachable coupler mounts. The detailed interior and realistic bogies reflect the specific version and period accurately.
