The diesel railcars ALn 668 had a remarkable success not only with the FS but also among the Italian private railways, which purchased several units directly derived from the model built for the FS. The FER (Ferrovie Emilia Romagna), created in 2001 after the merger of four former railway companies in the region, owns some ALn 668 railcars, 6 of which are built on the basis of the 1000/1900 series of the FS, and during the overhauls, they received the new and striking company livery based on white, green, and red colors.
