HR2981 "Italian Tourist Trains" is a special limited edition for 2025, marking the 80th anniversary of the company’s foundation. Founded in 1945, it quickly became a benchmark for railway modelling not only in Italy but beyond. The product is presented in a commemorative box featuring the 80th-anniversary logo, inspired by one of Rivarossi’s most iconic and long-lasting logos — the “double R,” introduced in 1970 and used for over 30 years until 2004. Inside, you will also find a special edition booklet recounting the history, showcasing the very first logo: a shield bearing the company name and the famous “Galletto” emblem. For this celebratory model, we chose to reproduce one of the locomotives used by Italian Tourist Trains to haul their trains, as it perfectly embodies the spirit Rivarossi has upheld since its inception. Just as TTI aims to revive the authentic “flavor” of vintage trains reinterpreted for today — not only through tailor-made services but also by visually applying the historic and legendary “Treno Azzurro” livery to modern E402B locomotives and matching coaches — Rivarossi has always been committed to taking enthusiasts on a miniature “touristic journey” through railway history (primarily Italian, but worldwide as well) by reproducing iconic models crafted with the full use of the latest technologies.
