Novelty 2025: The simple locomotives of the V 100 series were
instrumental in the disappearance of steam locomotives on branch
lines. The main area of use of the class V 100.10 and .20
locomotives, which were delivered in series from 1961, was in light
passenger and goods train services. In 1968, the locomotives were
classified as class 211 in the new numbering scheme of the German
Federal Railways. The more powerful variants of the V 100.20 series
were also used on main lines and steep gradients. Digital switching
