Prototype:
From 1962, Deutz offered the KG 230 B, a two-axle diesel-hydraulic locomotive in the performance class of the Köf III. Its air-cooled twelve-cylinder engine A12L714 delivered 230 HP at 2000 RPM. The robust design proved itself in numerous industrial and factory railways, such as BP, Thyssen-Krupp, VTG, and Mannesmann. Many locomotives are still in operation today – a testament to the reliability of the Deutz small locomotives.
