To replace war losses, the railway maintenance works in Langenfelde
delivered a total of 13 examples of the emergency sleeping car
WLC4y(e)-36/47 starting in 1947. The basis was the hospital cars
built from 1940. For travel comfort, there were eight Pullman
double-deck beds, a three-bed compartment for ladies, a dining
compartment, and a small lounge at one end of the car. A kitchen
completed the equipment. The cars were already equipped with closed
bellows transitions.
