Gas tank wagon set GATX 33 80 751 5 016-3 + VTG 33 80 771 4 009-7,
DB, white + gray, Era V, DC
The design code Zag indicates that the vehicle is a tank wagon (Z)
with four or more wheelsets (a) for compressed, liquefied, or gas
dissolved under pressure (g).
The Pullman model represents a four-axle 620hl pressure gas wagon
from the Uerdingen wagon factory, which was primarily supplied to
wagon rental companies like the Eisenbahn Verkehrsmittel A.G. EVA.
The EVA was a partner at the manufacturing plant, which later
merged into VTG. Characteristic of the Uerdingen wagons with an
attached sun protection roof was the comparatively large roof
overhang with the radially extending distance plates. The centrally
located manhole on the non-handbrake end was common for new builds
until about the mid-1960s.
