Novelty 2024: Despite technical deficits, the locomotives of the 1000 series were visually very appealing designs that still have a touch of the streamlined age about them. This fact was both an incentive and a challenge for the PIKO designers. The sides of the elongated electric locomotive are divided by the finely engraved fan grilles, above which crystal-clear and perfectly flush engine room windows have been inserted. The roof is characterised by a streamlined bonnet. A finely detailed undercarriage, which rolls on extremely filigree spoked wheels, peeks out from under the long girder. Technically, the PIKO model is in clear contrast to the prototype: A solid drive ensures reliable tractive power. The lighting with numerous switchable functions uses LED technology. The centrepiece is a modern main board with a PluX22 interface, which enables the uncomplicated installation of a digital decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker.
