To protect personnel in the event of accidents, the class 1100
locomotives were retrofitted with front ends similar to those of
the class 1700. The PIKO model has sharply engraved bogie covers
with realistic spring assembly reproductions and
true-to-the-original reproductions of the buffer boards. The
lighting is provided by LEDs. The cab and engine room lights as
well as the front and rear lights that work depending on the
direction of travel can be controlled digitally with a PluX22
decoder. The heavy die-cast zinc frame and the motor with two
large, precisely balanced flywheel masses provide excellent driving
characteristics and high tractive forces. A PIKO SmartDecoder 4.1
with mfx capability is installed ex works, and the locomotive is
also prepared for easy retrofitting with sound and the largest
possible speaker.
