Novelty 2022: The PIKO Expert model of the Dutch State Railways (NS) class 1100 impresses with successful mold construction, harmonious roof roundings, and many applied parts, such as fine insulators and pantographs, free-standing grab irons, and stairs. The model has the matching lamp molds, sharply engraved bogie covers with realistic spring assembly reproductions and faithful reproductions of the buffer planks. The lighting is provided by LEDs. The cab and engine room lights as well as the front and rear lights that work depending on the direction of travel can be controlled digitally with a PluX22 decoder. The heavy die-cast zinc frame and the motor with two large, precisely balanced flywheels provide excellent driving characteristics and high tractive forces. The model has a tidy circuit board with PluX22 interface and is prepared for an uncomplicated retrofit with sound decoder and large speaker.
