The PIKO model of the Class 74 of the SNCB is based on the technological design of the V 60 of the DR, particularly on the well-proven drive concept of the D-coupler. The stable frame made of zinc die-cast, in combination with the motor and a precisely designed flywheel, ensures sensitive controllable running characteristics with very high tractive effort. Power is collected from all six wheels, two of which are equipped with traction tires. As a standard feature of the PIKO Expert series, the model has a direction-dependent light change from white to red and a PluX interface for digital operation. The cab lighting can be switched on and off. The model has been prepared for easy retrofitting with sound. Grab bars and handrails are mounted free-standing. The delicately etched railings ensure detailed fidelity to the original.
