Novelty 2026: In 1922, a new electric locomotive was included in
the procurement program for the Bavaria Group Administration of the
Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft for demanding passenger service on
electrified lines, designated as the EP 5. The drive system of the
total 35 locomotives was divided into two groups, each assigned two
motors. Other particularly striking features of the vehicles are
the continuous long frame and the distinctive box structure with
beveled corners. After World War II, 29 machines were still in
service with the DB, and the last locomotive of the series was
retired in 1973. Printed version of the BR E52 of the DB with black
running gear in Era III. The model features a modern PluX22
interface for easy decoder retrofitting.
