The CC 6500 "Maurienne"
The CC 6500 "Maurienne" locomotives (CC 6539 to 6559) delivered
between 1971 and 1972 are intended for use on the
Culoz-Chambéry-Modane line.
From 1977 onwards, the locomotives were interchangeable with the
other "red" CC 6500 on the South-East network. Some "Maurienne"
locomotives were repainted in "Grand Comfort" livery in the
mid-1980s.
The CC 6549, 6558, and 6559 from the Vénissieux depot will be among
the last machines to be withdrawn from service in July 2007.
