H0 scale model of a BR 62 steam locomotive. Epoch IV
(1970–1990) livery.
The BR
62 was a standard locomotive developed by the
Reichsbahn Central Office, based on
the never-built BR 20 design. A total of 15 locomotives were
constructed by Henschel in 1928, with the Deutsche
Reichsbahn initially taking over only two units for
use in the Ruhr area. The remaining locomotives entered service in
1932.
