1963

Built between 1963 and 1964 by Fiat, the 20 units from this series are initially registered Az 23.780 - 23.799 and are gradually renumbered through series 50 83 19-48 / 51 83 19-40 / 50 83 19-88 (not all cars) to 50 83 19-78 400 - 419.

Originally max. speed 140 km/h, in 1969 increased to 160 km/h, in 1970-1974 to 180 km/h (probably only 16 cars), from 1975 back to 160 km/h. Various components later used on UIC-X series cars were tested on the cars. Between 1967 and 1984, air conditioning (two different systems) was installed, which was visually manifested by a large number of grilles and ventilation holes on the roof (on the corridor side). Various electrical equipment was also tested, including various types of CZE with static converter. In 1986, a new hot air heating system was installed, in which the ventilation holes in the roof were removed.

The last cars were withdrawn from service in 2001.
