In 2007, units RABe 525 015 - 027 are extended by one additional intermediate car to form four-part multiple units instead of three-part multiple units.

2012

Unit RABe 525 038-6 is sold to RegionAlps (RA) where it is initially registered as RABe 527 514-4.

2015

From 2015 to 2019, Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon Railway (BLS) modernized its entire NINA fleet.

1st class is no longer in the high-floor compartment, but is moved to the low-floor area. In 2nd class, a standing area is configured and the colours inside and outside of the vehicles are standardised so that all trains have the same design. In addition, the lighting is adjusted so that all compartments are well lit. The toilets are also getting small adjustments.
