The first 12x units from this series, AL 1150 - 1161, are former S 10 steam locomotives of the Prussian State Railway received as war reparations following the armistice treaty of November 11th, 1918.

1925

The last unit of the series, unit AL 1162, is acquired in 1925 from the Italian State Railways. Also a former S 10 steam locomotives of the Prussian State Railway, it was registered in Italy as Class 676.001.
