On 22 June 2007, the MOB (Montreux Oberland Bernois) announced that
it had placed orders with Raility of Biel for eight new
air-conditioned coaches. These coaches are equipped with large
panoramic windows, low-floor access, and seating. The design
includes standard-level seating at the vestibule ends, while the
central section offers low-floor seating, making it easier for
passengers with restricted mobility to access. Additionally, the
coaches are fitted with handicapped-accessible toilets to ensure
inclusivity.
The new coaches feature a state-of-the-art bogie called "Centro
1000," incorporating air suspension technology, which has been
manufactured by Alstom. The first coach, numbered Bs230, was
delivered from the Chernex works and entered service in mid-May
2010. The coaches are designed in a sleek white livery with golden
lettering, displaying the new "Golden Pass" symbol and
"Transgoldenpass" name. The "bls" blue lettering is also
prominently featured.
The second coach is expected to be ready for service in June 2010.
To form three-car EMUs, four of the new coaches will be positioned
between the two halves of ABDe 8/8 4001–4004.
In mid-December 2010, the first of these new coaches, numbered 231
and 232, officially entered full revenue-earning service. They
became a regular part of the popular "Golden Pass Panorama" trains,
specifically serving routes 3118, 2119, 2128, and 2131.
