1950

These lightweight steel coaches were delivered in a quantity of 15 between the years 1950 and 1954 by SIG. They each offer seating for 40 smokers and non-smokers and have a weight of 24 tons.  

1956

Originally classified as 3rd class coaches, they were reclassified as 2nd class as early as 1956.  

1967

In 1967, the Bi 309 and 317 were converted into control cars Bti 50 63 28-03 900 and 901 in the BLS workshops.

To ensure continuous numbering of the remaining coaches, Bi 318 was renumbered to Bi 309.
 

1971

In the years 1971/72, units 50 63 20-03 057 - 065 are converted into coaches B 50 63 20-33 457 - 465 with enclosed platforms and rubber gangway connections.  

1979

Units Bi 50 63 20-03 055 - 056 are converted to BDt 50 63 82-33 940 - 941.
