CFR Călători modernizes 6 passenger cars from the series B11 21-90 (AVA 200) in 2024. The aforementioned cars underwent a major overhaul (with modernization classified as RK) at SC Atelierele CFR Grivița, after which they resumed service under a new series number, specifically series 21-91.

The 6 second-class passenger cars are modernized in compliance with EU standards, funded through a self-financing investment program by CFR Călători. These cars are for inclusion in the composition of both domestic and international passenger trains, thus contributing to an increase in the capacity to meet daily traffic demand.

They operate under traffic regime 61, applicable for both domestic and international services. Each car accommodates 74 double seats arranged in a salon format, featuring individual, armchair-type seats upholstered with fire-resistant, wear-resistant, and vandal-resistant materials, arranged in pairs with armrests. The seats also include reclining backs similar to those found on airplanes. In emergency situations, a SOS device allows passengers to communicate with the locomotive driver.

Furthermore, a passenger information system with displays located inside and outside the cars provides route information via GPS. Each car is equipped with a fire detection system, including a smoke detector and a fire extinguisher. The side doors feature a selective opening and closing mechanism, allowing the locomotive driver to unlock the doors on the platform side, akin to the systems used in subways. Each seat is fitted with 230 V 50 Hz AC power outlets, along with USB charging ports. The cars also boast a fully automated ventilation, heating, and air conditioning installation and adaptive LED lighting that adjusts according to the intensity of external light. The maximum operational speed of the cars is 200 km/h.
