A test run took place on September 8th, 2018, along the route from Timisoara to Arad, Oradea, and Baia Mare. Scheduled operations were planned to commence in December, with trains running in pairs from Timisoara to both Arad and Oradea. Following the split at the latter station, one unit was set to continue to Baia Mare while the other would head to Cluj Napoca.
Finally, regular service commenced on November 8th, 2018, with a train pair operating between Arad and Oradea.

On March 11th, 2020, a RailAdventure service passed through Enns in Austria with a total of 4x ex-DSB IC2 units on their way to Romania.
