For the 17 upgraded EC locomotives at Brașov, the traction systems are supplied by Promat Craiova, while Tehnoind Craiova provides the main transformers. Siemens Mobility is responsible for delivering the ETCS systems for these locomotives.

This locomotive is the first of the batch of 17 units financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), with the Brașov factory expected to complete the entire batch by the end of 2026. Work on the locomotive began in 2024, and its total completion will occur following the successful conclusion of all tests, including those involving the European Train Control System (ETCS) supplied by Siemens.
The newly modernized locomotives represent a significant milestone for the railway industry in Romania, particularly for SCRL Brașov, as they are the first four-axle locomotives with modernized asynchronous motors produced in Romania. Additionally, these locomotives are the first of this type manufactured by the traction system producer, Promat Craiova.
