1934

Following the first “Chapelon first-type” transformations, which gave rise to the 231 PO 3701 - 3721 series, a second batch of locomotives from the 231 PO 3521 - 3550 series was modernized in 1934 and are registered as 231 PO 3722 - 3731. These rebuilds became known as the “Chapelon second-type” transformations.



Within this series, locomotive 231-726 was fitted with streamlining and received further modifications to the steam passage cross-sections, enabling it to reach speeds of up to 200 km/h.
