Unit TGV Réseau 4530 is permanently removed from passenger service to become the TGV IRIS 320 ("Information de Recherche et d’Inspection"). The unit was heavily modified at the Hellemmes Technicentre and it was equipped with 150 sensors and 20 cameras.

In June 2006, it began patrolling the entire French high-speed network. It is the only TGV capable of measuring track geometry, catenary tension, and signaling integrity while traveling at a full commercial speed of 320 km/h. It ensures that every centimeter of the 2,700+ km LGV network is safe for daily operations without disrupting regular traffic.
