A total of 20x locomotives from this series are delivered by Electroputere Craiova as follows:
- 1979: 3x units registered as 66-0003-5, 66-0004-3 and 66-0005-0;
- 1980: 11x units registered as 66-0006-8, 66-0007-6, 66-0008-4, 66-0009-2, 66-0010-0, 66-0011-8, 66-0012-6, 66-0014-2, 66-0015-9, 66-0016-7 and 66-0017-5;
- 1981: 5x units registered as 66-0018-3, 66-0019-1, 66-0020-9, 66-0021-7 and 66-0022-5;
- 1982: 1x unit registered as 66-0023-3.

Similar to Class 67 (with which they share the same number block), these locomotives are intended for freight services and they have a lower maximum speed.
