These coaches are based on the UIC-Z type, but just like the Bmz 21-70.5 series they have half-openable windows and conventional heating/ventilation instead of air-conditioning .
They are equipped with SGP VS-RIC 75 bogies and are able to reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h..
The BDmsz 82-70.0 series are ÖBB - Austrian Federal Railways only half-luggage coaches with compartments in the passenger's area (all others have an open area).
