In order to reduce the operating costs of the shunting service on
the Sihlpost site in Zurich, the tracks were electrified in the
early fifties and the Swiss Post procured from SLM and Sécheron a
two-axle, electric tractor with rod drive. This unit is identical
to TeIII 121-138 units of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS).
