Founded in 2007 by a group of passionate model railway enthusiasts,
the association Traverses des Secondaires is dedicated to promoting
the world of model railroading across all scales. As a non-profit
organization under the French law of 1901, Traverses des
Secondaires has established itself as a key player in the model
railway community, bringing together amateurs and professionals
alike.
Every year, the association organizes the internationally renowned
exhibition, RailExpo, a vast forum dedicated to the universe of
model railways. This prestigious event attracts some 120
exhibitors, including specialised artisans from various countries,
with some hailing from as far as Switzerland and Italy. RailExpo
features around 25 intricate miniature railway layouts and welcomes
over 3,000 visitors in just two days, offering them a unique
opportunity to admire an array of meticulously crafted networks and
purchase high-quality materials from expert craftsmen and
retailers.
RailExpo is not just an exhibition; it’s a celebration of railway
culture. Visitors are immersed in a world where the language of
railway workers, often spoken among the retired enthusiasts who now
build miniature versions of their beloved trains, fills the air.
For newcomers, the salon offers a window into the charm of old
France, a time when trains whistled through small stations across
the countryside.
This grand journey into the world of miniatures makes RailExpo a
must-visit event, where buying a ticket promises a truly
captivating and nostalgic experience.
