Minerva Modellismo Ferroviario

Minerva Modellismo Ferroviario is an Italian manufacturer of highly detailed model railway rolling stock and accessories, with a particular focus on historic Italian prototypes.

Founded in 2015 by railway enthusiast Giacomo Saccani, Minerva began by experimenting with photo-etched metal construction and models in TT scale before progressively concentrating its activities on H0 scale. After a period of reduced activity, the project was relaunched in 2022, combining traditional metal model-building techniques with modern design and manufacturing technologies.

Minerva’s H0 models are characterised by their extensive use of metal construction. Depending on the model, major components such as the body and chassis are produced from 0.4 mm photo-etched nickel silver, complemented by high-resolution resin-printed details, cast metal components and finely manufactured fittings. Particular attention is given to reproducing the construction and appearance of the original vehicles as accurately as possible.

The range concentrates primarily on rolling stock of the Italian State Railways (FS), including freight wagons, passenger coaches and postal vehicles. Among the prototypes reproduced by Minerva are the F Tipo 1937 covered wagon, Ltm Tipo 1910 open wagon, Mp Tipo 1941 tank wagon, Pm/Po Tipo 1930 wagon, UF Tipo 1947T postal vehicle and BCI 65.000 Tipo 1936 passenger coach.

Many models are offered in several historically appropriate liveries, running numbers and configurations covering different railway eras. Selected models are available both as finished models and as assembly kits, appealing to collectors as well as experienced railway modellers.

Through its choice of less commonly reproduced Italian prototypes and its emphasis on photo-etched metal construction, Minerva Modellismo Ferroviario contributes a distinctive range of historic FS rolling stock to the H0 model railway market.
