About

Os.Kar

Os.Kar International is an elite Italian manufacturer based in Sassari, Sardinia, that has redefined the standards of the H0 (1:87) scale market through a relentless focus on mechanical innovation and extreme visual fidelity. Since its emergence in the mid-2000s, the brand has positioned itself as a boutique alternative to the European giants, specializing in the complex and often technically challenging prototypes of the Italian National Railways (FS) and the French SNCF. Os.Kar is widely celebrated for its "fine-scale" philosophy, where models are treated as high-precision instruments rather than mere replicas, often featuring artisanal detailing that rivals the most expensive brass imports.

Technically, the brand is a pioneer in integrating dynamic functional details into plastic-and-metal construction, such as their legendary diesel locomotives equipped with motorized roof fans that spin in synchronization with the engine sound. Their catalog is defined by iconic "workhorses" like the FS D.443 and D.445 diesel-electrics, the elegant ALn 772 railcars, and the modern French "Prima" family of locomotives (such as the BB 27000 and BB 75000).
