The model:
Even after nearly 70 years of service, the Ae 6/6 series locomotives reveal their timeless elegance as particularly graceful machines. And PIKO has once again succeeded in creating a worthy tribute to this Swiss cult locomotive with their model implementation. Special features such as the straight corner windows, the different versions of the apron sheets at the front, the characteristic roof designs, and the versions of the bogies have been consistently observed in the prototypes and series machines. The PIKO Ae 6/6 impresses with a heavy die-cast metal frame and finely detailed housing, finest painting and printing, raised locomotive lettering, and delicate metal pantographs. The five-pole, ball-bearing motor with two flywheels ensures excellent driving characteristics. The LED light change is direction-dependent, white/red, and, along with the cab interior lighting, can be digitally switched with a PluX22 decoder. Other highlights include the lovingly detailed engine room replica, which is excellently showcased with the likewise switchable lighting, and the illuminated driver's console. Brake hoses for retrofitting are included.
