These locomotives are part of 6x pre-series units built for the Swedish railways and divided in 3 categories: Rb1, Rb2 and Rb3.

These locomotives are equipped with direct current (DC) motors and diodes are used as rectifiers to convert alternating current (AC).

They are ideally for 25 kV / 50 Hz electrified railways like those in Romania and Yugoslavia.

These units are planned for export right from the start, the locomotive body received the narrower international profile of 3,100 mm.

Locomotives based on this series: Class 441, 060-EA.
