July 17

The inauguration takes place on July 17th, 1937, on the Bucharest - Constanta railway line. The journey took only two and a half hours with an average speed of 100 km/h and a maximum speed of 110 km/h. Richard Frasanovici, the then Minister of Communications, participated at the inauguration along with other officials, Malaxa representatives and representatives of the press.



The timetable for the service was:
M 97: Bucharest Nord 09h00 - Fetesti 10h32 - Constanta 11h25
M 98: Constanta 21.35 - Fetesti 22.30 - Bucharest Nord 00.00

The other units are used on the Bucharest - Brasov line (the voyage took 2 hours and 6 minutes with stops in Sinaia, Busteni and Predeal) and Bucharest - Ploiesti - Braila - Galati line.
