Ade 001/002 "Sageata Albastra" ("Blue Arrow") was built in 1958 at Uzinele 23 August and introduced in regular service on April 13th 1959 on the Bucharest - Constanta route. The 226 km route was traveled in 2 hours and 30 minutes with an average speed of 90 km/h and top speeds of 110 km/h.

It was powered by 2 diesel engines, each developing 600 hp (441 kW). During the trial runs, the train reached a maximum speed of 135 km/h.
