2010

Following Railjet service launch in 2008, the demand for standard long-distance coaches decreased and ÖBB stopped their "Upgrading-Programm" in 2010.

By the end of the "Upgrading-Programm", most Bmz 21-71.0 were upgraded to reach 200 km/h maximum speeds and received new registration numbers. Thus, by 2010 we retrieve:
- 11x ex-Bmz 21-71.0 modernised coaches as class Bmz 28-91.0 ;
- 12x ex-Bmz 21-71.0 modernised coaches as class Bmz 20-91.0 "Kinder-Kino" ;
- 45x ex-Bmz 21-71.0 modernised coaches as class Bmz 21-91.0 ;

Only 7x coaches remain registered as Bmz 21-71.0 and are removed from service between 2009 and 2011.
