2000

Converted from CFR Călători - Romanian State Railways for Passenger Transport locomotive Class 40 to run on German 15 kV 16.7 Hz AC electric system, KEG 7001 is displayed during Innotrans 2000 .

By the end of 2003, KEG - Karsdorfer Eisenbahngesellschaft ran into financial difficulties and finally applied for bankruptcy on February 12th, 2004.

Before this date and despite some test runs, the locomotive has never been approved by German authorities to run in Germany.

After the bankruptcy was declared, the locomotive is stored at Karsdorf cement facility .
 

2011

After 7 years into storage, the locomotive is finally sold to STAB - Svensk Tågkraft from Sweden.

The KEG 7001 locomotive is being transferred from Germany to Sweden via Rostock seaport to its new owner STAB - Svensk Tågkraft where it will receive designation EL 5100.001.
