1993

As the demand for coaches with mail sorting facilities on board decreases more and more, 10x UIC PA 26,40 m units are converted to UIC PE 26,40 m "containerized" wagons.

Modified for the transport of mail stored in containers: the following modifications are made in the Cannes la Bocca workshops:
- all windows are removed;
- sliding loading doors are replaced by roll-up metal curtains;
- the interior fittings are dismantled (the sorting room and the auxiliary premises for the staff - toilet, kitchen, cloakroom - are removed);
- rails are installed on the inside walls for fixing the straps;
- the heating equipment under the chassis is removed.
