1992

ATCM railway company acquires units AM54 056, AM54 064, AM54 072 and AM55 505 from the Belgium National Railway Company (SNCB NMBS). These units enter into service in 1993 as ALe 228.056, ALe 228.064, ALe 228.072 and ALe 228.505.

Unit AM54 101 is acquired for spare parts.

Units AM54 062, AM54 075 and AM55 517 are also assigned to ATCM railway company but they are never transferred to Italy.

2006

In 2006, the livery of these units, initially based on a white/gray scheme with a blue band, was transformed into the bright canary yellow livery.
