High-speed steam locomotive 18 201, coal-fired, DR (EN)

The 18 201 is a high-speed steam locomotive developed in the 1960s for testing new passenger coaches. It was created using components from a high-speed tender locomotive and a high-pressure test locomotive. The design features a modified boiler with a Giesl ejector, allowing for high speeds of up to 180 km/h, and includes a counter-pressure brake for precise speed maintenance.
