ESU Autumn New Releases 2023: New Model Ae 6/6 and Variants V160/BR218

The Ae 6/6 model represents a post-World War II development by Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) to meet increased train weights and speed demands, featuring six driving axles and a maximum speed of 125 km/h. The project was led by SLM and BBC, with prototypes delivered in 1952. The V160 family, particularly the BR 216/218 models, enjoyed over thirty years of popularity, being reliable machines found on many non-electrified lines across Germany. The 218 055 model received a new MTU diesel engine, prompting the design of new roof hoods for the models. Additionally, updated sound features accompany these new variants, including the well-maintained 218 396 from the Brohltalbahn.
