Held at the headquarters of one of Germany’s best-known model railway manufacturers, the event offers a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of PIKO and discover how model trains are designed and produced. Visitors can explore the factory during live operations, discover the latest products in G, H0, TT and N scales, meet PIKO engineers and designers, and enjoy a wide range of special activities throughout the day.

This video showcases the atmosphere of the event, including factory tours, exhibition layouts, product presentations, special editions, the PIKO Flagship Store and many highlights that attract thousands of visitors to Sonneberg every two years. Special displays, operating layouts and exclusive models make the event a true celebration of the model railway hobby.

Since its introduction, the Tag der Offenen Tür has become one of the largest model railway events in Germany, welcoming visitors from across Europe to the historic home of PIKO, a company founded in 1949 and renowned for its extensive range of locomotives, coaches and accessories.
