Electric locomotive class 103 of the DB

The locomotive 750 003, originally 103 222-6, is a special representative of the DB class 103. It was converted in the late 1980s for test and measurement runs and received a modified gearbox that allowed speeds of up to 280 km/h. As a result, it played an important role in high-speed and technology tests of the Deutsche Bundesbahn and later of Deutsche Bahn.

The renumbering to class 750 marked its status as a railway service vehicle. After the completion of the test operations, it regained its original number but continued to be used for measurement and testing runs. To this day, it is considered an important vehicle for the development of German high-speed rail and is currently operated by the railway company RailAdventure.
