Electric locomotive class 155 of PRESS
Single-arm pantograph, blue livery
The class 155 experienced a second career in freight transport with
PRESS (Pressnitztalbahn). After DB AG sold its former DR
locomotives to Railpool starting in 2018 and later retired them,
several machines found their way to private railway companies such
as PRESS.
Thanks to their robustness and high starting tractive effort, they
continue to be used in heavy freight train service, especially on
east-west corridors and in traffic towards the Czech Republic.
Their striking blue paint schemes also make them popular subjects
for photography. Technically, the PRESS locomotives are
distinguished by rectangular buffers and single-arm pantographs,
features that have also been accurately implemented in the Arnold
models.
