About the model
The Rhaetian Railway in H0 standard gauge
The cars of the world-famous "Glacier Express" or "Bernina Express" are available for use on H0 standard gauge tracks of the alternating and direct current systems. For the well-known panoramic cars, new standard gauge bogies with standard coupling pockets according to NEM 362 have been developed. The bogies are prepared for the optional installation of interior lighting and feature pre-assembled wheel wipers. If interior lighting is to be installed, these wheel wipers only need to be adjusted to the inner surfaces of the standard gauge wheelsets. For operation with alternating current, the ski wiper Art. 6545 601 must also be procured.
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the "Glacier Express," which has been in operation since 1930, MGB and RhB presented their new train concept GEX 2006: Both railways put two six-car panoramic train sets into service. In the following years, additional train sets were acquired.
