DR 970-620 Load Cars (Radebeul)
In the numerous narrow-gauge railways of the former GDR, the rolling stock was in very poor condition in the first years after World War II; the cars dated back to the turn of the century. Gradually, extensive maintenance work was carried out on some Saxon load cars, passenger cars, and luggage cars.
The wooden cladding was replaced with metal sheets, the wooden window frames were made of metal, and the interiors were modernized with new seats, among other improvements. However, these measures were not sufficient in the long term.

When it became clear in the mid-60s that these railways could not be dispensed with and the tourist value of such railways was slowly recognized, it was decided to reconstruct the cars similarly to the standard gauge Rekowagen.

Bemo updates the range and replaces the sold-out or only available in small quantities car models 3020 810 (970-588) and 3021 810+811 (970-324 or -416) with vehicles featuring new operational numbers suitable for Era IV.
