Container wagon, type Sgns, of Stadler Rail.
■ Designed as a service and workshop wagon
■ Loaded with two 20' containers
■ Wagon made from die-cast metal
■ Implemented as an approximate model based on the Sgns container
wagon
In Switzerland, Stadler Rail operates two pairs of such service
wagons. The prototype are Sgs wagons, formerly operated by
Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft. The wagons always operate in pairs
and are intended to transport rolling stock, usually multiple
units. Both wagons have a permanently mounted 6-foot container on
the outside, ballasted with stones. In the prototype, one wagon in
each pair also has an additional 12-foot accommodation container
mounted on top for the accompanying staff. For the model, a set
based on a Sgns wagon and inspired by the prototype has been
created to complement the Stadler Re 465.
