■ ABm 225 through coach from Chiasso, already featuring the
“Sonderarbeit Berlin” modernisation
■ Bm 234 as a through coach from Rome, featuring pictograms and
new, large class numbers
■ Dms 905 in the green livery with disc brakes for the first
time
■ WRmh 132 in the typical livery from 1973, also well suited to
TEE/IC services
For almost 40 years, the Loreley-Express provided a high-quality
express train service between Basel and Amsterdam. This enabled
passengers in both classes to travel comfortably through three
countries on this route in half a day. In addition, there were
through coaches from Rome, Chiasso and Chur. The service, which
always ran along the legendary Rhine, was consistently operated by
Class 110 locomotives. North of Emmerich, the Dutch railways took
over traction.
The DB seating coaches correspond to the much-sought-after version
from the 1980s, meaning that many still feature the traditional
green livery but already include pictograms beneath the new, large
class numbers. The WRmh 132 dining coach appears for the first time
in the red-and-beige TEE livery, with a black skirt and the DB
logo.
