The ÖBB 2067 105 belongs to the tried-and-tested 2067 series of
diesel locomotives, which were developed by SGP from 1959 onwards
for heavy shunting duties. With its 600-HP diesel engine,
distinctive rod drive and robust construction, it was in service
for decades at stations throughout Austria.
The locomotive features the characteristic Valousek design with a
‘bib’ on the ends, which was introduced on many ÖBB shunting
locomotives from the 1990s onwards and made them easier to
recognise. The 2067 105 was built in 1977 by SGP-Vienna with the
factory number 18530 and delivered to the ÖBB.
